Norberry & Pulberry
Pulberry is a mature neighbourhood located in St. Vital bordering on the north side of Bishop Grandin, and East of St. Mary’s Road.
Here you will find homes of all sizes and shapes, starting with the esteemed River Road running along St. Vital Park and the Red River, to the more modest character homes found in the heart of this small neighbourhood. Homes here have large backyards, mature trees and front access driveways. Close to all amenities, including St. Vital Mall, the famous Maxime’s Restaurant and a short drive over to Pembina Highway, this neighbourhood screams location, location, location.
Real Estate Trends
Norberry and it's neighbour, Pulberry are a competitive market for home buyers to get into. Homes are highly sought-after in this neighbourhood, with price points ranging from the low $200,000 to well over a million for homes found on the Red River. The average home sells from $275,000 - $350,000 although you can find some fixer-uppers for much less. This area is comprised of mostly residential detached homes, but there are some condominium options within the community.
Schools & Services
Norberry and Pulberry are both small neighbourhoods close to many amenities, although the area itself does not contain that many services
There are two elementary schools, one French Immersion, Ecole Marie-Anne Gaboury, and one English, Hastings School, which both share the same school field. Although Dakota High School is not technically found in Pulberry, it is just on its border.
There is no hospital in Norberry or Pulberry, but it is a short drive to the Victoria General Hospital found at 2340 Pembina Hwy.
Shopping
Both Norberry and Pulberry are within walking distance of St.Vital Centre, where you will find plenty of retail stores, restaurants and large box stores such as Walmart.
It is also walking distance to a community favourite, Dakota Family Foods, which surrounded by many other convenient boutique-type and specialty vendors.
Just over the Bishop Grandin Bridge towards Pembina you’ll find tons of other shopping, such as Staples, Winners, Best Buy and Safeway.
Entertainment & Recreation
Norberry and Pulberry are best known for being located in close proximity to beautiful St. Vital Park. Here you will find tons of activities to keep you busy in both summer and winter. It also provides great walking/biking paths throughout the park as well as the Bishop Grandin Greenway, which follows the green space along Bishop Grandin.
It is home to a few of Winnipeg’s favourite restaurants. Maxime’s restaurant and lounge has been a neighborhood staple as well as Georges Burgers & Subs. The neighbourhood pub, Tapps is also a favourited meeting ground for the community.
Norberry-Glenlee Community Centre is also found within this area, providing activities for all ages.
